How to delete your account
- In the app. Open Settings, then Delete account, choose "Delete my account" and type DELETE to confirm. It happens straight away. If you are the dealership's owner, transfer ownership to someone else first, or delete the whole dealership (below).
- On the web. You do not need the app. Send a request with our support form (topic: Account and data), or email support@maharalabs.com with the subject "BayThru account deletion". Include your dealership's name or Dealer ID and your name, and write from the email address on your account. You do not need to give a reason. This is also the way to ask if you have been removed from the dealership and can no longer sign in.
- Through your dealership. The owner or an admin can remove you from the dealership straight away and ask us to delete your account.
If you write from a different email address, we confirm the request with your dealership's owner or an admin before deleting anything, so nobody can delete someone else's account.
After a request on the web
- We reply to confirm we have your request.
- We let your dealership's owner know, because the dealership's records are theirs, and your account stops working as soon as we start.
- We complete the deletion within 30 days and confirm it to you by email.
What we delete
- Your sign-in. Your password and every session are removed, and nobody can sign in to the account again.
- Your profile. Your name, email address, phone number, job title, department (and any other departments you were in or headed), who you reported to, your links to any additional managers you had and to the people you were an additional manager of, and when you were last active are erased. Your name is replaced with "Former staff member".
- Things that were only for you. Your push tokens and subscriptions, notification settings, personal reminders, held notifications, saved views, in-app notifications, your acknowledgements of announcements, the conversations you muted, the record of chat messages you hid with "Delete for me" or "Clear chat", and chat blocks between you and anyone else.
- Helping on tasks. You are taken off every task you were helping on.
- Your details in the activity log. We remove your personal details, such as your name, email address and phone number, from the log entries about your account.
- Your name in other people's notifications. Where the app wrote your name into a notification for someone else (for example "New task from" you), it is replaced with "Former staff member".
What is kept, and why
- Your dealership's work records. Tasks, comments, checklists, announcements, chat messages, files, kudos, the task history and the dealership's daily figures belong to the dealership, and other people on the team rely on them. They stay, shown under "Former staff member", until the dealership is deleted.
- Your open tasks. Tasks assigned to you that are still open, in progress or blocked move to your manager, or to the owner if you have no active manager, so the work carries on. Your finished tasks stay as they are. People who reported to you now report to your manager.
- Reports and feedback. Content reports and feedback you sent stay with the dealership, without your name.
- Billing records. If you bought the dealership's subscription, its Google Play purchase records are kept for 7 years, as tax law requires.
- Trial checks. If you signed the dealership up, keyed hashes of the sign-up details stay, so the same dealership cannot start another free trial. Nobody can read the original details back from them.
We do not rewrite what people typed. If a message or comment contains personal details about you that you want removed, say which in your request and we will work with your dealership to remove them.
Emails already sent to you stay in your inbox, our email provider keeps its delivery records under its own retention policy, and technical logs on our servers and our providers' systems are not edited one person at a time. Copies in our encrypted backups expire within about eight weeks.
Deleting does not cancel a subscription
Deleting your account, or the whole dealership, does not cancel a Google Play subscription. Cancel it in Google Play first, or it keeps renewing. A subscription stays with the Google account that bought it, even after ownership of the dealership moves to someone else.
Removing someone is not deleting
The owner or an admin can remove a person from the dealership in the app, and a manager can ask them to. That stops sign-in straight away, ends the person's sessions, moves their open tasks to their manager, to a person the owner or admin chooses, or up for grabs, and takes them off the tasks they were helping on. The account and its work are kept, so the owner or an admin can bring it back later. The person stays on the Removed people list in Settings until the owner or an admin takes them off it. Taking someone off that list does not delete their account or their work.
Someone who has been removed can't sign in to delete their account in the app. They can ask on the web, as described above.
Uninstalling the app or signing out does not delete your account either. To have your data removed, delete your account as described above.
Deleting a whole dealership
Only the owner can delete the whole dealership: in the app, open Settings, then Delete account, choose "Delete dealership" and type the dealership's name to confirm. Every account, all content, all files, reports, blocks and feedback are erased. Before you do, the owner or an admin can export the dealership's data in Settings › Export data, and the owner should cancel any Google Play subscription.
We keep only the billing records (7 years, as tax law requires), the hashed trial checks, and our own record that the dealership existed and was deleted: its name, Dealer ID and the dates.
The owner can also ask us by email from the owner's address at support@maharalabs.com. We delete the dealership within 30 days and confirm it in writing.
When a trial or subscription ends, the dealership locks. Its data is kept for 90 days, during which the owner can export it, and is then deleted in the same way.
